    Monroe County home destroyed by fire after lightning strike

    SARDIS, Ohio (WTRF) – Officials confirm that a home in Monroe County is a total loss after being struck by lightning.

    The Antioch Fire Department responded to 43348 Barnes Run Road in Sardis around 4pm after reports of lightning striking the home.

    No one is living in the house, but there are personal belongings still inside.

    The Antioch Fire Department was the primary responder, and the Woodsfield and Sardis Volunteer Fire Departments were called in for assistance.

    No injuries were reported.
