WHEELING .W.Va. (WTRF) — Labor Day weekend is now in full swing, and many people consider it the last days of the summer season.

As kids head back to school and all the exciting fall sports return, many people will say goodbye to the summer of 2024.

Out at Oglebay Park, several people are enjoying one of the last chances to soak up the summer sun before the leaves begin to change.

One visitor from Pittsburgh thought the Ohio Valley was a perfect place to have one last bit of summer fun.

He says there is just one thing left to do before what some consider the unofficial end of summer.

Labor Day weekend that’s reserved for the pool and hot dogs, man. We’re out there grilling, we’re out there chilling, swimming by the pool. It’s been a pretty hot summer. I’m not going to lie to you, but I’ll miss it a little bit. But I’m waiting for that cool sweater weather. A little bit of pumpkin spice in us will be good.”

    Matt Come – Pittsburgh, Pa.

While Summer isn’t officially over until September 21, the Labor Day weekend seems to be the last of all the fun in the sun.
