AMC corporate confirms movie theater at the Ohio Valley Mall is closing; Mall responds

AMC corporate has confirmed that AMC Classic at the Ohio Valley Mall is closing.

AMC Classic will have its last day on Sunday, September 8.

“We can confirm that AMC will cease operations at Ohio Valley Mall 11 after close of business on Sunday 09/08/24. AMC routinely reviews the theatres in our circuit, as well as opportunities outside of our circuit, and makes decisions based on what will best strengthen the Company going forward. We thank our Ohio Valley Mall 11 guests for their patronage and have appreciated the support from the community.”

7News reached out to the Ohio Valley Mall for a response and they said, “We are looking for the right operator to provide the level of service that movie lovers in the area deserve.”

AMC took over the theater space after Carmike Cinemas operated the area until 2016.

The nearest theater to the Ohio Valley Mall will be Marquee Cinemas at The Highlands.
