    Child who made threat to West Virginia school on social media will not be at the school Tuesday

    Police in West Virginia have released a statement on a school threat that occurred on Monday.

    Weirton Police say they were made aware of a school threat to Weirton Middle School.

    Police say the threat was made by a 6th-grade student who attends the school on social media Monday. and that student will not be at Weirton Middle on Tuesday.

    Weirton PD says they spoke to the parents, the student, school officials, and the Hancock County Prosecutors Office. School Resource Officers are also aware of the incident.

    The Police Department said they would be following up with the Prosecutors Office.

    7News received a screenshot of the threat made on Snapchat that said “I’m shooting up Weir Middle. Uhm chat?????”
