Wheeling, W.Va. ( WTRF ) – The Belmont County man whose baby died of fentanyl exposure pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter just hours ago.

Cameron Cothran also entered guilty pleas to tampering with evidence and possession of drugs.

Cothran dropped his unresponsive one-year-old baby girl off at the hospital. She was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital where she died several days later. Officials say the autopsy findings showed acute fentanyl toxicity.

Cothran will be sentenced by Judge John Vavra on October 15th, and he could get up to 16 years behind bars.
