Wheeling Park’s Ryan Young wins West Virginia Girls Basketball Coach of The Year

Wheeling Park’s Ryan Young has won the West Virginia Girls Basketball Coach of The Year for the 2023-2024 season.

The Lady Patriots won the AAAA state championship after beating Morgantown 65-51 back in March.

The Lady Patriots finished the season with a 25-4 record.

In 2008, Young came to Wheeling Park High School where he currently teaches U.S. History, Economics, and Geography. Young was an assistant coach for the girls basketball team from 2008-2012

Young is also eligible to be considered for the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Coaches Association Sectional and/or National Coach of the Year.
