MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. (WTRF) — Don’t miss the 2024 Horror & Paranormal Convention co-sponsored by the West Virginia Penitentiary and Wonders Oddities Expo this weekend.

The event will take place from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15.

This one-of-a-kind paranormal event will feature special guests, speakers, vendors, and even overnight investigations.

Notable guests include Bishop James Long, sharing his insights on demonology and showcasing his collection of haunted items.

Other special guests such as Kristin Lee, Sean Austin, Sandra Hudson, Stacey Leigh, Debi Covey, John Covey, and Haunted Nights Steven Brodt and Dylan Stevens will also be in attendance.

Come and celebrate the supernatural at one of America’s most haunted prisons.

The Gothic fortress, built in 1866, holds a dark history, with 998 documented deaths, including 94 executions. Many believe the energy of these lost souls still lingers behind its bars.

You can get one-day convention passes for $10 + tax in advance or $15 + tax at the door for either Saturday or Sunday. Access to the Convention Center includes special guests, horror-themed vendors, paranormal-themed vendors, artwork, and oddities.

For an enhanced experience, VIP passes are available for $100 + tax, providing a weekend pass for Convention access and a paranormal investigation from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Limited to 50 investigators per night, the paranormal investigations require participants to be 18 or older and have a signed Paranormal Agreement when checking in. Click HERE for the agreement .

Each investigation begins with a 90-minute guided historical tour, followed by free roam sessions alongside special guests.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, cameras, chargers, cellphones, flashlights, and extra batteries for the overnight investigation and convention.
