Local hairstylist works at Fashion Week in New York City and London

Martins Ferry, OHIO (WTRF) – The owner and operator of Cloud 9 Salons and Spas has just returned from Europe.

Bridgette Hardy was invited to be a stylist at Fashion Week in New York and then in London.

Fashion Week is a series of events where fashion designers and brands showcase their latest styles. And the hairstylists work on a steady stream of models who are rocking the runway.

Hardy said it was fast-paced and exciting.

“Minute after minute someone would sit in my chair and they’d tell me what designer they were with. And on my story board on my wall I had all the pictures from that designer. So I knew what hairstyle to put on that model. And you needed to know how many times are you walking today. You didn’t want to cement someone’s hair down knowing that they had to wear it down and flowy and then quick change around in another 45 minutes.”

Hardy did one male model’s hair and asked if he’d mind if she also did his beard. He said all right, and it turned out so well that quite a few men came to her chair after that.

She was in New York from September 6th through the 8th, and in London from September 11th through the 17th. She said it was the experience of a lifetime.
