Ohio police arrest man after a break in to a bank

NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH ( WTRF ) Ohio police arrested a man after police received an alarm call at a bank.

New Philadelphia Police say they received an alarm call at PNC Bank at West High Avenue. Police say someone broke into the bank through a door, triggering motion sensors in the lobby and teller areas.

Officers say they noticed a rear door with a shattered glass panel and found a man inside the bank wearing a hat and face-covering but disappeared from view.

Officers say they gave verbal commands for the subject to exit the bank and surrender but received no response.

Police say they were able to unlock the lobby doors through the opening of the damaged doors to make entry. Police say they found the subject and ordered him to the ground.

Arrested was Guillermo Snchez Gomez, 20 years old, who police say had a hammer, flat-blade screwdriver, a spoon, and black plastic trash bags. Police say they also found a fix blade knife on the floor.

Police say they found damage to a digital keypad and the vault door to the bank had minor damage.

Gomez was charged with breaking and entering, safecracking, possessing criminal tools and vandalism. He is currently in the Tuscarawas County Jail.
