Ohio man charged after alleged DUI wreck resulted in the death of his passenger

An Ohio man has been charged after an alleged DUI wreck happened that resulted in the death of a passenger in his vehicle.

7News media partner, The Herald-Star, says charges have been filed against Chad Allen Keyser, 35, of Steubenville.

Keyser was charged with driving under the influence causing death after a blood test allegedly found cocaine, fentanyl, and norfentanyl in Keyser.

The crash happened on May 3rd at the intersection of Veterans Drive and Main Street in Follansbee, WV where the vehicle which was traveling north on Main Street had left the roadway and struck a concrete footer supporting a metal utility pole.

Officials say the female passenger , Christine Michelle Shannon was unconscious upon arrival. Shannon was transported to Weirton Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Keyser was also taken to Weirton Medical Center and treated for injuries and released
