Moundsville, W.Va. (WTRF) – 7News had a visit on Thursday from a remarkable little boy with a big smile and boundless energy.

Logan Johnson will be two years old next month, and you’d never guess that he was born with half a heart. He’s had two open heart surgeries already, and will need more in the future.

Danielle and Sean Johnson of Moundsville knew before their baby was born that he would need heart surgery.

“He’s had multiple surgeries, starting at 24 hours old he had his first surgery.”

He has spent many weeks at WVU Children’s Hospital. In fact, he was honored at the hospital’s gala. Nothing slows him down, despite his oxygen level.

“He runs with an oxygen rate of 75 to 85 instead of a normal 100 like you and I would.”

His dad, Sean, is a league bowler and Logan loves to play bowling and already likes the lanes.

“I started bowling when I was four so hopefully we can get him in there after his next surgery in another year and get him into it and see if he can be as good as Daddy if not better.

“He will eventually need to have another surgery next year when he’s three and then after that he will sometime in his life will have to have a transplant whether that’s when he’s in his 30s and 40s or in the next ten to 15 years.”

Logan is a happy energetic almost-two-year-old who is the light of his parents’ lives.

“For him to be doing as well as he is is just amazing. It’s a miracle. And it took us a long time to get him and then to have him here now is just amazing.”

    Danielle Johnson, Logan’s Mom

“Well we tried for four years to get him and then we got him and we’re very blessed to have him and he’s a trooper. We’re just very thankful and thank God every day.”

As you can imagine, Logan’s medical costs are expensive.

There is a GoFundMe account set up on Danielle and Sean’s Facebook pages and on the Chestnut Lanes’ page, or you can click here.

They say they’ll be grateful for anything you can give.
