    Wheeling, W.Va. (WTRF) – A local, long-time 911 dispatcher has now written a children’s book.

Dale Bradley wrote “People Are People, We’re All Equally Different” based on his own life experiences, growing up with cerebral palsy.

He says kids are naturally curious, and there’s no harm in asking someone politely about their disability.

The book is aimed toward readers ages six through twelve. The main characters are Sam, a 4th grader in a wheelchair, going to a new school, and his new best friend, Oliver.

“It is natural for them to stare when they see someone who looks a little different. And that parents, instead of whisking their child away, should at least teach the child that not everybody looks the same but we’re all equally different.”

The book is available on Amazon by searching “People Are People.”

Bradley lives in Moundsville and is now writing an autobiography titled “Trapped–Breaking The Barriers of Disability.” He also hopes to write more children’s books about the adventures of Sam and Oliver.

He worked as a dispatcher in Belmont County for 18 years.
