    Death ruled suicide in Marshall County

    UPDATE: Officials say the death has been ruled a suicide.

    MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – UPDATE: Benwood Police Chief Frank Longwell tells us that police were told about the situation around 1:15 this afternoon.

    Benwood Police are currently leading the investigation, with help from the West Virginia State Police Crime Unit.

    “The landlord came on station and informed us there was a dead body at 513 Main Street. Upon our arrival we discovered a white male laying on the floor in the garage with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.”

    Chief Longwell tells us that they’ll release more information once they get further into their investigation and next of kin are notified.

    Benwood Police are investigating after someone found a man dead at 513 Main Street.

    Chief Frank Longwell tells 7 News one person is dead, but the case is still in the early stages of an investigation.

    Chief Longwell said that is all he is releasing at this time.
