60th Annual Pumpkin Festival presents the Giant Pumpkin Parade

BELMONT COUNTRY, O.H. (WTRF) — Barnesville hosts their 60 ^th annual Pumpkin Festival this weekend.

Although this festival may look like your average fair with food vendors, family activities and a few competitions – it is anything but. This one-of-a-kind seasonal celebration includes a procession filled with fantastic floats.

Community members lined the streets eager to watch one of the highlights of the festival, the Giant Pumpkin Parade.

Festivalgoer Michael Presley says his family came all the way from Louisiana to take part in today’s activities.

“We’re enjoying it very much. We’ve come here a few years now and we’ve really enjoyed it. It’s kind of neat being up here, seeing different things, and see how y’all do parades, it’s cool.”

Organizations throughout the valley had a chance to show off their floats. Bands, dancers, and festival royalty lit up the crowd as they made their way through their route.

Festivalgoer Dawn Weiss says this Autmn event is perfect for the whole family.

“We come every year and we love it. If you’ve got little kids bring them, if you’ve got older friends bring them too.”

After a successful 4-day long celebration, this perfect-pumpkin-themed event can’t wait to welcome the community back again next year.
