Elm Grove Eagles help families stay warm this winter with Coats for Kids

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va (WTRF) — The Elm Grove Eagle helped kids throughout the community during their Coats for Kids event on Saturday.

Auxiliary members helped families pick out gloves, coats and hats free of charge for their children to be warm this winter.

Elm Grove Eagle Steve Kaminski says their organization has done this event for over 20 years. He says it’s vital for kids to have the things they need before the cold comes in.

“A lot of them don’t have anything, they don’t have stuff to wear for winter. It’s a great thing to see these kids smile, have a great time and get to go shopping. They just love it.”

“To see the smile on these kids’ faces when they pick out their favorite coat, their favorite hat, that’s all it takes because we know we’ve done our job. That’s what Elm Grove Eagles is all about, people helping people.”

The Eagles look forward to helping more kids throughout the Ohio Valley during their community events as the seasons progress.
