    Person of interest in custody after threats made towards high school Homecoming Dance in Ohio

    NOBLE COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — Law enforcement in Ohio took a person of interest into custody after receiving credible information about violent threats made towards the Caldwell High School Homecoming dance on Saturday.

    According to the Noble County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Jason Mackie, along with all Noble County Deputies, both on duty and off, was immediately summoned and dispatched to Caldwell High School to protect the children and staff and secure the premises.

    Officials say a mutual aid request was made to all available Law Enforcement personnel in the region as well.

    A short time after securing the school, students and staff were escorted to their vehicles to ensure that everyone could be safely cleared from the scene.

    Once secure, officials say the Noble County Sheriff’s Office continued its investigation, and shortly after a person of interest was located and taken into custody.

    Officials say this investigation remains ongoing.

    Sheriff Mackie would like to assure the public that all attendees at the Caldwell High School Homecoming dance were safe and were able to be escorted to their vehicles without incident.
