“I killed my whole family,” More details released in West Virginia murder

More details have been released regarding a man charged with first-degree murder in West Virginia.

Police in Weirton say they were dispatched to Elm Street in Hancock County for a report of a male who was having a drug overdose.

When police arrived they said they saw two EMS personnel kneeling behind a vehicle, police thought they were wrestling with a subject and exited the cruiser to assist. Once the officer excited the vehicle, EMS workers advised that there was a man with a gun.

Officers say they saw a man in the front yard of the house who was walking down the sidewalk steps toward police. Police say the man had a gun with him.

Police say they were able to use a taser to get the subject to the ground, handcuff the man, and secure the gun.

When the subject stood up, police said he made an un-provoked statement of “I killed my whole family.”

Officers say based on the urgent statement made they ran into the home and found 30-year-old Taylor Albert with a gunshot wound to the face. EMS told police that Albert was dead on arrival.

Arrested was 32-year-old Jordan Lee Pager.

Prager advised that he thought some kids were inside the house as well, police though were able to get in contact with the kids that were expected to be in the house and were not at the residence at the time and were reported safe.

Police say Prager was wearing a Grateful Dead t-shirt and black underwear and with blood on his hands and legs.

Prager was processed for traced evidence of gunshot residue and blood.

Prager does not have a scheduled court date at this time. He is currently in the Northern Regional Jail.
