An Ohio man was arrested after a homecoming dance had to be evacuated.

David J Gruver, 38 of Caldwell was arrested and charged after law enforcement said they received credible information about violent threats made towards the Caldwell High School Homecoming dance on Saturday.

No one was hurt during the incident.

Gruver was charged with Inducing Panic, a Felony of the Second Degree, with Firearm and School Safety Zone Specifications.

During his first court appearance, the judge ruled Gruver would be held without bail until his bond hearing scheduled for Thursday, October 3.

Noble County Sheriff Jason Mackie stated “I cannot comment on case details at this time. However, I can comment on the great job that our Noble County Deputies and Dispatchers, Caldwell School Staff, along with our partners from other agencies, did in responding to, and assisting with, the safe evacuation of the school. Specifically, I would like to thank the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and the Byesville Police Department, who all sent officers to the scene, as well as the multiple other agencies that were staging manpower and equipment in case it was needed.”
