    Ohio health system to drive semi-truck full of donations to North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene

    An Ohio health system is doing what it can to support those in need after Hurricane Helene North Carolina.

    Trinity Health System says they are collecting donations to offer relief and support to those in need in Asheville, NC.

    The donations will be accepted at the entrance of Franciscan Square.

    Trinity is looking to fill a semi-truck Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and a driver will take the semi-truck with all the donations to Baltimore Church in Asheville, NC on Monday, October 7.

    Donations can be dropped off between 10am-7pm on Friday and Saturday and 12pm-7pm on Sunday.

    Donations needed are food (non-perishable items), pull-tab can goods, can openers, breakfast (dry cereal, pop tarts, granola bars), peanut butter, 100% fruit juice, sports drinks (20oz or smaller), individual snacks (crackers, Rice Krispies), individual fruit (applesauce, fruit cups), bottled water, razors, shaving cream, body wash, bar soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, mouthwash, hand sanitizer, hand soap, deodorant, feminine products, bleach, disinfectant, mops, buckets, rubber/plastic gloves, sponges, brooms, trash bags, plates, bowls, cups, paper towels, toilet paper, plastic bags (storage or gallon), non prescription drugs, band aids, medical tape, ointments, disinfectant wipes or spray, eye drops, chapstick, sunscreen, bug spray, diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, baby food, dry food, canned food.

    Hurricane Helene has killed at least 91 people at this time. A North Carolina county that includes the mountain city of Asheville reported 30 people killed .
