Over $100,000 dollars in legal fees were paid for the superintendents failed attempt to close Paden City high school. That amount of money could have paid for nearly 3 teachers salaries. The county board of education is so worried about the cost of operating these schools as they are yet they have the resources to pay $100,000 dollars in legal fees without question? They are pushing these consolidations at light speed to circumvent any pushback from the community. These consolidations are "not free". The students of Wetzel county will not suddenly become smarter after consolidation. Get ready to pay the school boards bill and it won't be cheap. Not being open and honest and not listening to the people who elected them is going to cost them their positions, sooner or later it's coming
