7News’ Annalise Murphy speaks to OGHS students about her career as a journalist

HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. ( WTRF ) – 7News Reporter Annalise Murphy was a guest speaker at her alma mater, Oak Glen High School, Tuesday afternoon.

She spoke to members of the Future Business Leaders of America club about her time in high school, what she studied in college and how she got into the news industry.

After telling students about her job as a multimedia journalist/news anchor, students presented information about themselves as if they were reporting for live TV.

Murphy says she had a great time and wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to the students and Mrs. Tina Viakley.

“It was a full circle moment getting to talk to the students at Oak Glen about my career as a journalist and the work I put in to get to this point. I have many fond memories of my time at OGHS, and I’m honored Mrs. Viakley asked me to come and speak with her students. I’m hoping they enjoyed my presentation and are inspired to look into journalism as a career!”
