Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories return to Ohio

(WTRF) – It doesn’t take a meteorologist to know that it has been pretty chilly as of late. A persistent wind with a northerly bend continues to bring cooler than average conditions to the region. In fact, this chill expanded on Wednesday with much of the East Coast dealing with below average conditions. Some spots (our area included) experienced highs 10°- 20º below normal both Tuesday and Wednesday.

With that cold air locked in place, and some clearing in the forecast, especially west of the viewing area, Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories will go into effect late Wednesday night for much of the region.

A little closer to home, Guernsey, Noble, and Tyler Counties will be under a Frost Advisory starting around, or shortly after, midnight until Thursday morning at 9:00 A.M. Bring in sensitive plants or cover them with a light sheet or cloth, never use plastic, if you want to extend the growing season. A more widespread frost will be possible on Friday morning.
