    Former West Virginia deputy charged with felony involving 600+ images of minors makes first court appearance

    HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. ( WTRF ) – Former Hancock County Deputy Patrick Hoder appeared in Hancock County Magistrate Court for the first time Thursday afternoon.

    Hoder is being charged with one felony count of distributing or exhibiting material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

    According to the court filing, 600 plus images and videos are involved in the case.

    Special Magistrate Shannon Price of Brooke County is hearing the case, and the special prosecutor is Gail Kahle of Ohio County.

    Hoder is being represented by defense attorney Robert McCoid.

    Magistrate Price granted a joint motion for a continuance.

    A new date is expected to be set within the next 30 days.
