Charleston, W.Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has endorsed Governor Jim Justice in the General Election for the United States Senate in West Virginia and rated him “A+,” the highest rating possible of any candidate.

“The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse your candidacy for the U.S. Senate. Thank you for defending NRA members and law-abiding gun owners in West Virginia and throughout the country. Based on your leadership protecting the Second Amendment as governor of West Virginia, you have earned an “A+” rating from the NRA-PVF for this election,” said Randy Kozuch, Chairman National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund.

Governor Jim Justice welcomed the endorsement, saying, “I’m grateful for the endorsement and highest rating possible from the NRA and its members. As a lifelong hunter and outdoorsman, I strongly support the Second Amendment and the great traditions around responsible firearm ownership. The Second Amendment guarantees our people the right to keep and bear arms. As the next U.S. Senator from West Virginia, I’ll fight against radical gun control laws and oppose liberal judicial nominees who support infringing on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.”

During his time as governor, Justice enacted strong Second Amendment reforms, including:

    • Signed into law the Campus Self-Defense Act, which will permit law-abiding West Virginians to defend themselves on college campuses.
    • Signed the “West Virginia Keep, Bear, and Drive with Arms Act” into law, affirming West Virginians’ lawful right to possess firearms in their vehicles in the manner they choose.
    • Enacted reforms to stop financial institutions from using payment card processing systems and data to monitor Second Amendment activity and discriminatory conduct.
    • Took action to ensure no government emergency can restrict the Second Amendment by prohibiting state, county, and local governments from banning the lawful carrying, sale, or use of firearms and ammunition during a state of emergency.
    • Reduced the fees for applications to carry concealed firearms lawfully and eliminated the fees for honorably discharged military veterans.
    • Exempted firearms and ammunition sales from state sales and use taxes.
    • Expanded our hunting tradition in West Virginia by legalizing Sunday hunting on all public lands.

“Look at my record; it’s rock solid with the Second Amendment. I’ll always be a strong defender of the Second Amendment and the traditional West Virginia values and heritage of responsible firearm ownership that so many Second Amendment patriots celebrate and pass on to their sons and daughters,” concluded Governor Jim Justice.
