Exotic Feline Rescue’s vet clinic brings opportunities for animals

CENTERPOINT, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Exotic Feline Rescue Center will soon open their new state-of-the-art veterinary clinic.

The clinic is designed specifically for the big cats and other animals that call the rescue center home. It will feature several kennels where the animals have an isolated place to go while recovering, a surgery room, and other lab rooms.

The Feline Center will be hosting its ribbon cutting on March 2 at 10 a.m., followed by brunch and tours of the new facility. That event will not be open to the public.

Head Keeper Rebecca Stevenson said everyone is excited for the animals.

“They’ll be able to have a lot more space. So, they’re gonna be a little bit more comfortable that way. They’ll be able to go outside on their own free will,” Stevenson said. “Right now, how we do it is they’ll be in their little cage on wheels and we’ll wheel them outside so they get some fresh air and what not, but it’s just not ideal. So, this is going to really just make their care just that much better. We’re so excited for it.”

The 7,000-square-foot clinic was made possible by a generous donation from the Huck Family.
