CENTER POINT, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Saturday morning the Exotic Feline Rescue Center celebrated a new addition to its facilities.

A new vet clinic was a much-needed upgrade for the health and safety of the animals they care for. Before this, they were having to treat these animals in a dedicated space in founder Joe Taft’s basement.

All of this was possible due to a grant from the Huck-Liebchen Foundation.

Taft said this was something he thought he could only dream of having.

“I could have never built this,” he said. “In my wildest dreams what we were seeing was a little post frame building that would be a clinic. This is far more than that.”

He also wants to thank the Huck family from the bottom of his heart.

“It feels amazing, and it makes me happy,” he said. “The generosity of this family has completely changed how this facility is going to operate going forward for the better, and that is priceless.”

The EFRC is holding an open house March 10th for the public to come take a tour of this new facility.
