    Breakfast With Champions celebrates Special Olympics

    TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Special Olympics Indiana hosted it’s “Breakfast of Champions” at the Terre Haute Convention Center, with WTWO’s Dana Winklepleck serving as emcee.

    Audience members heard from athletes and their families about the impact the games have had on their lives. They also heard about the progress being made to help athletes receive the medical and mental health care they need.

    Law enforcement raises money for Special Olympics Indiana

    President and CEO of Special Olympics Indiana Jeff Mohler said special Olympics Indiana was created in the Department of Education at Indiana State University. For 55 years, Terre Haute has hosted Special Olympics Indiana.

    “We have a long history that goes back to the very beginning of our organization and we continue to strengthen that relationship with not just Indiana State University, but Rose-Hulman and the City of Terre Haute,” said President and CEO of Special Olympics Indiana Jeff Mohler.

    The 2024 Special Olympics Indiana will welcome 2,300 athletes June 7-9 on the campuses of Indiana State University and Rose-Hulman. Volunteers are still needed for the games. Click for more information on how to help.
