    Sycamores sweep Beacons to finish regular season

    VALPARAISO, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Baseball beats Valparaiso 15-4 in the final game of the regular season.

    Mike Sears homered twice in the game to give him 49 career home runs, setting a new Indiana State all-time career home run record passing Boi Rodriguez (48 home runs, 1985-1987).

    The Sycamores finish the regular season with an overall record of 39-11 and a record of 22-5 in Missouri Valley Conference play.

    Indiana State will be the number one seed in the MVC Tournament next week in Evansville. The Sycamores will open tournament play on Wednesday at 5 p.m. against the lowest seed remaining after the opening round on Tuesday.
