    Banks of the Wabash Fest kicks off Thursday

    TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The annual Banks of the Wabash Festival kicks off Thursday at Fairbank’s Park in Terre Haute.

    The annual event draws thousands of people to the area each year.

    The festival features carnival rides, food, merchandise and craft vendors, games, entertainment and more.

    Events kick off Thursday, May 23 at 6:00 p.m. It’s ‘Family Bargain Night,’ with all rides costing just one ticket. Tickets will be $2 each, or 16 for $30. ‘Family Bargain Night’ will also be held on May 28 and 29.

    Hoosier Prairie Elementary unveils Buddy Bench

    On Friday, May 24, the festival opens at 5:00 p.m. It will be ‘Wrist Band Night,’ where you can ride all evening for $30. There will also be music by the Gracie Scott Band at 7 p.m. ‘Wrist Band Night’ will also be on May 26, 27, 30 and 31.

    The Banks of the Wabash Festival will open at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (May 25 and 26).

    When the following day is a weekend, the Carnival closes at 11:00 p.m. When the following day is a weekday, the Carnival closes at 10:00 p.m.
