TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State begins their academic year on August 20th, but first, they had to welcome their newest class of students.

They held a multitude of student events, including the tradition of “March Through the Arch”, followed by a student involvement fair. This fair gives all students the ability to see what organizations and clubs are on campus and how to get involved.

It kind of opens your eyes again to what is available because a lot of times you get into your own little groups and then you don’t know what else is out there. It gives you an idea to go back, see what else kind of piques your interest, and what you can do to be more involved.

Drew Daming – President of ISU Student Philanthropy

Student organizations weren’t the only thing on campus as over 20 community partners had booths at the involvement fair as well. This included the president of the Vigo County Council Todd Thacker. His booth was informing students on voting and registering them if they were not already.

University President Mike Godard will be in his first year at the school. He says he is very excited about the future of Indiana State and has high hopes for this new class.

Just the excitement of our students. I am just really optimistic about the future of Indiana State University. I know this new class of 2028 is going to play a huge role, in our current, but our future success as well. Just thrilled to be a part of it and being able to lead this university as we move forward.
