TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As you pass by the Terre Haute Convention Center, you will see something new by its main entrance.

The “I Heart Terre Haute” sculpture is something that was prototyped and tested at 35 events in the Terre Haute area over the last year and a half. After overwhelming positive feedback, the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and Duke Energy teamed up to have this sculpture placed in front of the Terre Haute Convention Center.

The Director of Community Engagement for the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Josh Alsip said they hope this encourages residents to share their love of Terre Haute.

“As we have these conventions here locally with hundreds of people coming, they will be able to pop outside of the Convention Center, take their photo, and post it on social media,” he said. “We hope to see people taking their picture and talking about why they love Terre Haute. Not only residents, but visitors as well.”

Alsip added that even though they now have a permanent one, they still plan to take their prototype to events in downtown Terre Haute.
