SCCH holds annual employee field day

SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan County Community Hospital held its annual employee field day Thursday.

This event began just a few years ago, but has now grown into a favorite at the hospital.

Early Thursday afternoon, 64 members of the hospital staff competed in the individual event. This was a timed obstacle race that competitors could go against the clock or each other.

After that, nine teams of eight came together for a team competition. They were tasked with working together through challenges such as passing water over each other’s heads and getting a hula hoop from one end to the other, by using just their linked arms.

The leaders of the event say this program hopes to inspire fitness in the community.

The reason we do this program is to encourage people to be healthy. It makes them comes out, be active, so we just encourage it all year. We do little things all year and this is just our big event.

The winners of the events and the team with the best outfits won prizes.

The hospital says they hope to have more events like this throughout the year.
