Construction on Springhill Road near finished

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Good news for residents on the south side of Terre Haute, the construction on Springhill Road is almost complete.

Construction crews are putting the final coats of asphalt down Thursday and Friday. Then stripers are scheduled to work on the area on the 3rd and 4th of September.

County Commissioner Mark Clinkenbeard says despite the delays, a busy road like this, needed to be repaired and it will be for the better.

It is just going to be so much more safe for everybody and it is also going to move traffic faster and easier. It had some delays because of utilities being moved and things like that but I know people on the south end are going to be very happy to have this finished.

All lanes, going both ways, are expected to be open just after Labor Day.
