Evan Austin swims in Paralympics

PARIS, Fr. (WTWO-WAWV) — On September 2nd, Terre Haute native Evan Austin finished 4th in the 400 meter swimming freestyle. Federico Bicelli of Italy took the gold.

Austin has competed in each of the last three Paralympic games and is a two-time medalist winning a gold and bronze in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

“Everything from Toyko on is just bonus. I already have my medals, I have things that can’t be taken away from me, so all this, I’m just really having a lot of fun,” said Austin.

The 31 year old is looking forward to the 50 meter race this weekend. He’s says it’s his best shot at a medal.
