    OUCC looking for input on Eastern Heights Utilities rate increase

    BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) is holding a public hearing on Thursday in Bloomfield.

    The IURC will be holding the meeting at Bloomfield Middle and High School in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. Customers are invited to comment on the pending water rate increase made by Eastern Heights Utilities. Consumers are urged to come at 5:45 so the process of the hearing. These comments will be put into the case record that will be used by the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC) which is reviewing the case.

    The OUCC is allowing written public comments through September 11 on the matter. They will be using their resources to represent consumers’ thoughts on whether or not to pass the change in water rates. The hearing will be a place to voice opinions of the consumers who use it but a decision will not be reached at the hearing and questions cannot be made directly to the utility company. The OUCC testimony on the subject must be given by September 18.
