Sandbox Social to add 6th location in Haute City Center

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – New entertainment is coming to Haute City Center.

Sandbox Social is preparing to open VAR BOX Arena, its 6th space in the Haute City Center.

“I might have a problem.” states local Wabash Valley entrepreneur and Sandbox founder Zack
Johnson with a smile. “And of course I am working on a 7th space after this one and as long as
there are empty spaces in the mall. I probably will not stop looking for more. Maybe we can
finally provide everyone with an answer to the question I have heard my whole life living here:
What is there to do in Terre Haute?”

It will offer virtual reality shooter games, such as dinosaur hunting, zombie survival, and futuristic soldier games, as well as shooting range arcade-style games.

VAR BOX Arena Manager Dakota Wester is excited to see the unique entertainment Sandbox Social is bringing to the city.

“For Terre Haute it’s very unique for the fact of you don’t have any VR locations around anywhere besides like an hour away up in Indianapolis, so it’s really cool to see Terre Haute bring this in,” said Wester.

VAR BOX Arena will have its grand opening on Friday, September 6 at 3:30 p.m. Everyone who comes to the opening will be allowed one free game of their choice anytime during opening day.
