SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Sullivan History Museum is asking for the community’s help with their latest project.

The museum started the “Unknown Picture Project” to identify unmarked pictures they have collected over the years. Most of the pictures came from family estates or local photographers. So far they have identified 35 people, but there’s still thousands of pictures left unidentified.

Museum Curator Katiesha Benson said she enjoys helping with this project.

“I would be really sad if some of my treasured photos ended up in a building where nobody knew them. And so it’s really a good feeling when one of the photos get identified for me. And that photo potentially gets copied and sent back to the family so they can continue to treasure that loved one,” she said.
