CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO-WAWV) — The Clark County Health Department issued an update about an earlier warning which warned residents not to open suspicious envelopes. The health department says information indicated the mailing appears to be legitimate.

The following statement was issued by the health department:

Thanks to everyone who shared the earlier post regarding the mail from IDPH c/o NORC. Given today’s climate it is always better to be safe than sorry! After receiving calls from concerned residents and speaking with state and county partners we wanted to be cautious. Information was just received that the mailing appears to be legitimate and is just appearing to hit Clark and other southern counties. Again thanks to everyone for looking out for each other!

That's a very good question. They only give you a little Bit of information on there? How do we know what we are looking for if it's suspicious? There's mail that I get that. I don't even look at cuz. I throw it in the trash. Because it's usually junk mail and I don't read it So if you want us to look for suspicious mail, tell us more about it. That's what's wrong with people. They don't give you enough information because they're morons
