TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute South High School was filled with music performances Saturday night and it was all for a great cause.

The cost of admission for Saturday’s performances was one simple request, a donation of canned food items. And all of the canned donations were donated to a local food pantry.

The evening kicked off with performance by 8th grade students from Honey Creek, Sarah Scott, and Woodrow Wilson Middle Schools.

“Talk about the importance of music in our community, it’s definitely holding us together,” says Todd Norris, Assistant Band Director. “These eighth graders who will be here next year to work with the same kids and build those relationships already building a strong program.”

This year, the band’s program is called Eklektikos and features a variety of music.

You can check out the marching band at all South home football games and they travel to competition throughout the season.
