One person is dead following a shooting in Vermillion County

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind (WTWO/WAWV) — One person is dead after a shooting in Vermillion County Monday night.

Around 10 p.m. Monday, Vermillion County deputies responded to an area near Hardees and a Marathon Gas Station on State Road 163 on the report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, one person was pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s office says there is no threat to the community at this time.

Indiana State Police stated there is an ongoing investigation in Vermillion County referencing a shooting.
