Traffic stop in Knox County results in felony drug charge

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Knox County Sheriff’s Office performed what they thought would be a routine traffic stop until it ended with discovering over 30 grams of heroin.

According to a Facebook post from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, On Thursday, September 19, officers pulled over Matthew Livermore around 8:42 p.m. for having his license plate light out on his 1996 GMC Sonoma. When Livermore was pulled over it was discovered that he did not possess a driver’s license or vehicle insurance.

After a K-9 unit arrived on scene, it positively alerted sheriffs to drugs in the vehicle. The deputies located four grams of methamphetamine and 33 grams of heroin. Livermore was then booked and taken to jail on the charges of a level 6 felony of possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony of possession of a narcotic drug, a class C misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia, and received citations for the lack of license and insurance. Livermore’s bond is set at $15,000.
