OLNEY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — UPDATE: On Sunday The Olney Police Department got information that a man known as Goerge T. Grove, 46, was possibly in a home located at 318 West Butler Street in Olney, Illinois. Grove had an outstanding warrant for escape due to not returning from a medical furlough after original charges of contributing to the delinquency of a child, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance. Grove was said to be considered armed and dangerous.

At around 3:46 p.m. officers attempted to make contact with Grove but the situation quickly turned into a barracaded situation. The area was then secured but after exhausting all options ILEAS SWAT Team made entry into the home and took Grove into custody without any incidents. Richland County Sheriff’s Department, ILEAS SWAT Team, Illinois State Police Crisis Negotiations, and other local law enforcement agencies assisted with the arrest.
