TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State Head Coach Curt Mallory said Monday morning that quarterback Elijah Owens is working his way back towards playing Saturday when the Sycamores host Houston Christian. He missed the last game after having surgery earlier in the year.

A pair of Sycamore lineman are excited to potentially get their QB back out on the field.

“We will do whatever we have to do to win the game, says defensive lineman Gianini Belizaire.

“It’s just showing up doing their job and we trust they are doing their job. As much as we can get the ball in Owens hands we feel comfortable.”

Offensive lineman Alex Todt says,”He’s a playmaker. We saw him at EIU make plays the whole day. He brings that it factor and I love to block for him.”
