ST. BERNICE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— St. Bernice, Indiana is currently under a boil advisory while they install new water lines.

According to the licensed operator for St. Bernice, Jon Haynes, the city will be under the boil advisory until further notice while they run the new lines.

For any questions or concerns you can contact Haynes at 812-208-2884 or the superintendent Jamey Thornton at 765-505-0186

The CDC’s guidance for how to properly boil water during these situations is as follows:

    • Fill a pot with water.
    • Heat the water until bubbles come from the bottom of the pot to the top.
    • Once the water reaches a rolling boil, let it boil for 1 minute.
    • Turn off the heat source and let the water cool.
    • Pour the water into a clean container with a cover for storage.
