VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— UPDATE: The Boil advisory has been lifted at this time and was confirmed by Jon Haynes

Clinton Township is under a boil advisory according to licensed operator Jon Haynes.

The whole of Clinton Township is under a boil advisory due to a water main break late Tuesday night according to Haynes. Haynes stated that it had been fixed this morning but that the water had to be turned off, leading to the boil advisory. Haynes said he is hopeful that this will be lifted by Friday.

The CDC’s guidance for how to properly boil water during these situations is as follows:

    • Fill a pot with water.
    • Heat the water until bubbles come from the bottom of the pot to the top.
    • Once the water reaches a rolling boil, let it boil for 1 minute.
    • Turn off the heat source and let the water cool.
    • Pour the water into a clean container with a cover for storage.
