TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Early Saturday afternoon, a 100-mile bike finished in Terre haute.

The Tour de Komen started in 2017 and has been a fundraising and awareness event for breast cancer.

It was started by Kyle Vannoni after he lost his own mother to the disease.

Riders rode their bikes from Fishers, Indiana to Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute.

Vannoni says the reactions he has gotten from this event encourage him to make the event even bigger.

After one of the Race for the Cures [they] said, “Hey, the funds that you raised, I was actually able to tap into those funds and detect, treat and beat my breast cancer. I’m now cancer free.” That really hit home. I was like let’s do something bigger because you don’t beat breast cancer alone, you beat it with your family, your friends, but your community. That’s what we’re doing here today.
