TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Students at a local college got a jumpstart on their careers Wednesday with the chance to speak to representatives from hundreds of companies.

Rose-Hulman held its Fall Career Fair, featuring more than 260 companies.

Students learned about full-time, internship and co-op positions. Some companies will also stay on site Thursday to interview students for positions.

“This is a great opportunity for our students to showcase their education, their skills and talent in engineering, math and science. Getting a chance to talk to employers about a summer internship, a co-op or even a full-time position. This is what it’s all about,” said Scott Tieken, Director of Career Services and Employer Relations.

The college estimated between 1,600 and 1,800 students would visit the career fair on Wednesday.

“At the end of the day, students work hard for that degree. They want to see their efforts turn out into the real world, so coming here helps put their dreams into effect and gets them successful in their career down the road,” says Jonathan Stadler, a Junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Rose-Hulman says it has a nearly 100% career placement each year.
