TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — WTWO and WAWV are teaming up with the Salvation Army to raise money for hurricane relief efforts.

With Hurricane Helene hitting southeastern portions of the United States just a little over a week ago, eyes are all now on Florida as they brace Hurricane Milton to make landfall.

And hurricane victims need our help now, more than ever.

“100% of funds raised all go directly back to the individuals who are still suffering,” said Captain Michael Good, Salvation Army Commanding Officer volunteering in Aiken, SC.

The Hurricane Relief Drive will run Thursday from 6 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on both WTWO and WAWV.

To donate, call us at 812-696-2121 to make your pledge, multiple operators are standing by. You can also donate online at this website , or by scanning the QR code below.

“This puts money back into the communities as we’re helping the families, and purchasing supplies.” said Major Brooks Gilliam, Salvation Army Commanding Officer volunteering in Bristol, TN. “We’re doing these things and it’s pumping funds back into the local economy and helping them in the recovery process.”

Tune in all day on Thursday on WTWO and WAWV for live updates on how much money is raised for hurricane victims.

“We need the public to be our partners, we can’t exist without that and it’s important to help our neighbors,” said Major Ed Binnix, volunteering in Douglas, GA.
