Food inspections October 7-12

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Here are the food inspections for the last week in Terre Haute courtesy of the Vigo County Health Department.

TGI Friday’s #435, 3401 S. US Hwy 41 (7 Critical, 8 Non-Critical) Observed several ready to eat items throughout establishment without date markings. Found sanitizer in ware washing machine not measuring at proper concentration for disinfection. Observed accumulated debris on sizzler platters being stored for use. Observed excessive amounts of soiled dishes left from previous day of business. Observed drain under ware washing machine not properly draining. Found hand wash sink with broken hot water foot pedal and with accumulated debris in basin. Found several ready to eat items on cook line being held at 55-59 degrees. Observed opened bottled sauces being stored at room temperature. Manufacturer instructions indicate refrigeration after opening. All shall be 41 degrees or less.

MCL Restaurant and Bakery, 3 Meadows Ln (4 Critical, 5 Non-Critical) Observed raw chicken juice pooled on top of gallon buckets of bacon grease. Observed hose draped across back of hand wash sink, no paper towels available for hand drying, leaking drain and accumulated debris on and around hand wash sink. Found fried chicken and roasted potatoes at temperatures between 110-129 degrees. Shall be 135 or above. Found house made cream cheese icing stored at 68 degrees. Shall be 41 degrees or less.

Kroger’s Company J-981, 2650 Wabash Ave. (3 Critical, 4 Non-Critical) Employees in deli were unable to demonstrate knowledge of sanitation procedures in regards to the breading station and slicers. Observed multiple employee drinks and personal items on food prep surfaces and food storage areas in multiple departments throughout establishment. Observed accumulated debris on cheese slicer in deli department. Observed accumulated fuzzy green and white debris on shelves throughout dairy, produce coolers, and accumulated broken egg debris on shelves.

Fresh Thyme, 4428 S. Hwy 41 (2 Critical, 3 Non-Critical) Observed employee drinks and personal items stored on prep surfaces in bakery and deli. Observed accumulated raw meat debris on and around meat wrapping machine.

Luca Pizza Di Roma, 3401 S. US Hwy 41 Suite A-6 (2 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) Observed raw beef and bison stored above ready to eat foods in cook line and in back reach in cooler. Observed accumulated black debris on soda nozzles in front of kitchen.

JP Stop & Shop, 2900 S. St. Rd. 63 (2 Critical, 0 Non-Critical) Found excessive accumulated debris on spray nozzle at three bay sink. Found multiple opened bottled sauces being stored at room temperature. Manufacturer instructions indicate refrigeration after opening. Shall be 41 degrees or less.

Aladdin @ Doherty Dining Hall, 3320 Eastgate Place (1 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) Observed multiple food items in walk-in cooler without date of consumption.

Terre Haute Convention Center, 800 Wabash Ave. (1 Critical, 1 Non-Critical) Observed multiple cooked food items in reach in cooler and walk in cooler without date markings.

Rose Hulman Rose Garden, 5500 Wabash Ave. (1 Critical, 0 Non-Critical) Observed accumulated food debris on meat slicer on back of kitchen.

Woods Café, 1 St. Mary’s of the Woods (1 Critical, 0 Non-Critical ) Observed grab and go deli sandwiches without date of consumption or ingredient label.
