FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Former Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested Thursday in Tennessee for allegedly driving intoxicated.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Bridge Street at around 5 p.m. in Franklin, Tennessee on the report of a minor traffic collision involving two vehicles.

Cutler allegedly rear-ended another vehicle and was slurring his words with bloodshot eyes, according to police.

He refused field sobriety tests and was taken to a hospital where a blood sample was taken through a warrant.

Cutler had two firearms in his vehicle, including a loaded pistol.

He was charged DUI-first offense, possession of a handgun-under the influence, failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, and implied consent.

Cutler has been in the media and hosts a podcast following his divorce from reality star Kristin Cavalleri.

The former first-round pick, from Santa Claus, Indiana, was traded from Denver to the Bears following the 2008 season.

Cutler had a career 52-52 win-loss record with the Bears in eight seasons.

More information regarding the incident is not available at this time. WGN News will update this story once more becomes available.
